Little Gasparilla Island is a small barrier-reef island on the Gulf of Mexico in between Sarasota and Fort Myers near a town called Placida. If you've never heard of it, consider it a best kept secret. It's 1/4 mile wide at its widest point, and 7 miles long, much of which is State Park. There is no commercial zoning, so... no industry, no restaurants, no stores or crowded tourist attractions. All of your grocery shopping is done before you arrive. Little Gasparilla Island is also without paved roads or bridges, so your journey there is a 10-minute boat taxi ride from a nearby marina in Placida. If you own a boat (or want to rent one), we have one dock space available just a short walking distance from the house. Once on the Island, people travel by foot or golf cart (available to rent). You'll love the simplicity and laid back attitude.
